05.10.2021, Study :

The Sparkasse Ulm League of Legends Cup took place on 18 September 2021. Several teams from Ulm and the surrounding area competed in the strategy-based computer game League of Legends (LoL), including students from the HNU Game Production & Management programme. They were able to prove their skills with a second place.

The competition was organised by HNUeSports; a group of GPM students who want to establish eSports at HNU. In order to find the best LoL players for the tournament, the students had organised a scouting tournament in advance.  Three teams were put together to compete in the Cup on behalf of HNU.

Strong competition

At the Sparkasse Ulm Laegue of Legends Cup, many strong teams were represented, which is why the teams HNU Solari and HNU Lunari narrowly missed out on making it to the semi-finals. It was all the more pleasing that team HNU Darkin made it to the final and secured second place. The team members were able to convince with a very good performance, especially considering the fact that it was the first tournament for the players as a team.

HNUeSports was particularly proud not only of Team Darkin, but also of the performance of GPM student Pascal Ballert, who was allowed to moderate and commentate on the final as co-caster together with the moderator of Team-Orange-Gaming, the eSports team of the national basketball league team Ratiopharm Ulm.
