Prior to this, Neu-Ulm University had successfully completed the dialog procedure for the audit, which is open to employers who have been pursuing a strategically designed family- and life-phase-conscious HR policy for at least nine years with the audit. The university was first awarded the audit certificate in 2008, which was valid for three years. After three re-audits, the dialog procedure now followed, which is rewarded with the certificate with distinction.
Around 290 employees (administrative staff and professors) and around 4,000 students at Neu-Ulm University benefit from family-friendly measures. The offer currently includes topics such as "Digital Leadership, digital Employeeship & digital Studentship."
"The compatibility of family and career is firmly anchored in the mission statement of Neu-Ulm University. For the past fourteen years, we have been repeatedly recognized for our tireless efforts, and this is both a reason for us to be pleased and an incentive to continue to drive forward our commitment to our employees and students," says the President of Neu-Ulm University, Prof. Dr. Uta M. Feser.
Solutions in a time of upheaval
The audit is offered by berufundfamilie Service GmbH, which will schedule another dialog procedure in three years to ensure the quality of the certificate. The aim of the dialog procedure is to maintain the high level of development of the family- and life-phase-conscious personnel policy and to use the optimization potential in individual selected areas.
Oliver Schmitz, Managing Director of berufundfamilie Service GmbH, emphasized on the occasion of the certificate online event: "The corona pandemic has once again sharpened our awareness of how much the development, implementation and benefit of compatibility offers depend on cooperation - the cooperation between employers and employees and, above all, between employees themselves. In short, a family- and life-phase-conscious HR policy requires thinking and acting in solidarity. Mutual support and cooperation enable or strengthen sustainable compatibility solutions and create the basis for a fair and healthy working atmosphere - especially in a time of upheaval. This is also impressively demonstrated by the organizations certified under the audit berufundfamilie and audit familiengerechte hochschule. With 343 certificate recipients, the particularly strong cohort developed countless ideas and measures before and during the crisis that absolutely underpin our annual motto "reconcile with each other - healthy, fair, together" and are also forward-looking for the respective organization and for the entire working world. We are therefore not only pleased with what we have achieved, but also look forward to what is yet to come!"
The web-based event was dedicated to a total of 343 employers - 158 companies, 152 institutions and 33 universities - that had successfully undergone the audit berufundfamilie or audit familiengerechte hochschule in the previous twelve months.
