In January 2022, the universities in Neu-Ulm, Biberach, Kempten and Ulm as well as the University of Ulm founded the Dual Career Network Swabia. This cooperation will make it possible to organize the services related to the professional placement of accompanying partners of professors and specialists and managers in the region more efficiently in the future. Interested institutions and companies can join the network free of charge. For further information about the network and joining it, please contact the DCNS coordinator Stephanie Bühren (Stephanie.Buehren@hnu.de).
This is what the Biberach partners in the Dual Career Network Swabia have to say:
"The Dual Career Network offers us two major advantages: on the one hand, in times of an increasing shortage of skilled workers, it is a further building block in personnel recruitment, and on the other hand, it provides a regular exchange with partners from business, science and local authorities," says Hans Wahl, HR manager and authorized signatory of VOLLMER WERKE Maschinenfabrik GmbH.
Thomas Graf, personnel officer at Gustav Gerster GmbH & Co. KG, is also positive: "As Gerster, we have decided to join the Dual Career Network in order to recruit new employees for our company. We are aware of the economic strength of the region and would like to create an attractive offer for the families of future employees by cooperating with other companies as well as universities. In this way, we want to attract specialists and managers to the region and retain them in the long term. Furthermore, we also hope for a common exchange within the network."
"We are pleased that some Biberach companies have joined the Dual Career Network Swabia. By improving the compatibility of work and family, we can strengthen the attractiveness of jobs in our region," says Dr. Robert Omagbemi, Managing Director of Handtmann Service GmbH & Co. KG.
Norbert Zeidler, Mayor of the City of Biberach: "Attracting and retaining skilled workers is an important task both for the companies in our region and for us as a local government. Personnel is and remains the most important resource for us. The attractiveness of a place of work for potential employees is therefore a decisive location factor. We want Biberach to continue to "boom a bissle". That's why we are very grateful for the Dual Career Network Swabia, which can make an important contribution to making it easier for people to make a career change to our region."
Christian Jäger, Head of the Main Office of the City of Biberach: "The Dual Career Network Swabia opens up an additional avenue for us to recruit staff and at the same time supports the skilled labor needs of the companies in the city. Thus, the network is important for us as a local government, both as an employer and in the context of economic development to strengthen Biberach as a business location."
Dr. Fridtjof Traulsen, site manager of the Biberach site of Boehringer Ingelheim Pharma GmbH & Co. KG, sees the new networking as an opportunity for the region: "In order to make the Biberach site as attractive as possible for skilled workers, we are working together with all stakeholders in the region to create appealing framework conditions. We want to help our employees feel at home in the region. By joining the Dual Career Network Swabia, we can together significantly increase the chances of also providing partners with attractive career opportunities in the region."
The new logo was created in cooperation with the company buero ost GmbH from Neu-Ulm
Philipp East, owner of buero ost GmbH, explains the logo: "On the one hand, the stairs stand for ascent and for breaking new ground. The colors of the stairs stand for the diversity we serve. In addition, the staircase stands for the S in Swabia and the upper curve of the S for the C in Career."
