Innovative web design for the fashion industry: HNU students optimize marketing platform for unitex

23.02.2026, Study:

Fashion Forward: Students in the Media Design 3 course of the Information Management and Corporate Communications programme at Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU) have developed the FashionBook from unitex GmbH—previously a printed magazine—into an interactive digital platform.

From magazine to interactive touchpoint

As a central marketing tool connecting retailers, suppliers, and service providers in the DACH region, FashionBook was reimagined under the direction of Prof. Danny Franzreb and lecturer Maja Weise: as a digital hub for inspiration, brand presentation, and efficient workflows in the fashion retail industry.

The focus is on a digital environment that presents premium and new partners and provides retailers with guidance on brands, offers, and trends.

Added value for retailers and partners

The website provides information about the goals and benefits of FashionBook and shows why it is an indispensable tool for brick-and-mortar fashion retailers. Retailers discover new brands, gain insights into relevant product ranges, and can integrate exclusive benefits directly into their sales strategies. At the same time, partners benefit from high-quality and consistent brand presentation.
The students' concept supports the company's vision with clear structures, modern UX design, and a visual language that digitally continues the look and feel of the print product.

“It's incredibly exciting to experience your own product from the perspective of students. With a lot of courage and digital flair, they have reimagined the presentation of the unitex FashionBook as a living brand space. It is precisely this fresh perspective that makes such collaborations so valuable,” reports Luise Melzow, Head of Marketing & Digitalization, unitex GmbH.
