Students visit Europe’s leading trade fair for digital healthcare

30.04.2026, Study:

From 21 to 23 April 2026, students from all degree programmes at the Faculty of Health Management at Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU) took the opportunity to meet key players in the digitalisation of the German healthcare sector at the Digital Medical Expertise & Applications (DMEA) in Berlin. The visit, led by Prof. Dr Sandra Krammer, offered a comprehensive insight into current developments, trends and challenges in digital healthcare. In addition, the students took the opportunity to engage directly with companies, institutions and industry experts.

A particular highlight was the visit to T‑Health (T‑Systems), who invited the students to a dedicated session at the trade fair. There, the company presented its solutions and product developments and provided insights into strategic future topics.

Reunion with HNU alumni

For many students, it was also inspiring to meet numerous HNU graduates who now work in hospitals, health insurance companies, consultancy firms or digital health companies. These direct exchanges clearly demonstrated just how diverse career paths in health management are and how well-connected HNU is within the industry.

A focus on current topics and trends

The DMEA also provided an opportunity to follow current discussions on artificial intelligence, electronic health records, interoperability and user-centred solutions. The students were able to see for themselves how important face-to-face dialogue between technology providers, healthcare professionals and the next generation of professionals is for the further development of the healthcare sector.
