Research assistants Amelie Velten and Verena Mattes attended the conference in person in Kristiansand, whilst external PhD student Dominic Krätz had already presented his paper during a previous online session.
A focus on organisational skills, business processes and ecosystems
Dominic Krätz presented the paper “Heterogeneous Trajectories of Generative AI Implementation in SMEs: A Dynamic Capabilities Perspective” in the track “Digital Technologies and Entrepreneurship Processes: From Innovation to Market”. In his paper, he examines how small and medium-sized enterprises develop the capabilities to utilise generative artificial intelligence and why companies follow different implementation trajectories despite having comparable technological prerequisites.
Amelie Velten presented the paper ‘How Artificial Intelligence Reshapes Entrepreneurial Processes: A Systematic Review and Typology of Process Models’ in the sub-track ‘Entrepreneurship Processes and Digital Technologies’. She examined which process models are used or proposed in entrepreneurship research in the context of artificial intelligence. Her analysis focuses on current research trends, key model types and existing conceptual gaps.
Verena Mattes presented her work in the ‘Entrepreneurial Ecosystems’ sub-track. In it, she analyses the key components of entrepreneurial ecosystems and contributes to a more precise understanding of the underlying structures and interrelationships.
International exchange and academic inspiration
The presentations from the IfE attracted a great deal of interest and led to stimulating discussions with researchers from all over the world. The feedback, drawn from a variety of theoretical, methodological and cultural perspectives, provided valuable impetus for the further development of the research and opened up new avenues for future projects.
Even before the main conference began, Verena Mattes also took part in the Doctoral Colloquium. There, she received targeted feedback from experienced researchers and was able to further expand her international network.
Research with an international perspective
Participation in EURAM 2026 underscores the international focus of research activities at the IfE. In addition to the academic sessions, the conference offered numerous opportunities to forge new contacts, strengthen existing networks and continue the exchange of ideas within the field of international entrepreneurship research.
For HNU, and the IfE in particular, participation in prestigious conferences such as EURAM offers the chance to showcase current research findings on an international stage, initiate new collaborations and strengthen academic networks. At the same time, PhD students benefit from valuable feedback, international contacts and new perspectives for their research work.
