Social Distancing requires Distance Learning - also in the further education of the HNU

22.04.2020, Postgraduate :

Social Distancing requires Distance Learning. For this reason, all classroom training courses are currently held online. Lecturers will transfer specialist knowledge in online sessions and hold video conferences with students.

Even if the teaching of module contents and the execution of group work is possible in this way, the exclusively digital form should not be permanent in the further education of the HNU. This exclusivity of digital teaching measures is due to the current situation. Digital teaching forms should actually support and enrich the valuable face-to-face teaching.

At the Centre for Continuing Education at HNU we attach fundamental importance to a balanced number of students, short distances and personal contact between students and our professors with their practical experience. The familiar atmosphere and the personal exchange, whether in class, in the club room of the continuing education (Beurer Room) or on the campus of the HNU, is what distinguishes the Centre for Continuing Education.

The didactic concepts of our continuing education courses are also deliberately divided into courses with different teaching methods. The basis for these concepts is the twenty-year experience of the Centre for Continuing Education with over 1200 successful graduates. We offer an optimal combination of seminars, small group discussions, presentations and professional reflections as well as virtual e-learning units. This ensures a high transfer relation between theory and practice.

Our current goal is to master the challenge of the summer semester 2020 together with our students, initially in purely digital form.

If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact the team at the Center for Continuing Education by e-mail or telephone. Our course directors are currently working in the home office. You can find the contact details on our homepage:

We are looking forward to the exchange with current students and to the inquiries of people interested in further education.
