Young refugees in training

With its integration project "Young refugees in training", the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Swabia has sent a positive signal in times of emerging flight movements to Germany. The aim is to enable young people seeking protection to integrate into the labour market by providing comprehensive support. The research project evaluated the existing measures of the IHK project. The entire process from addressing the refugees in occupational integration classes, to the placement and employment of the refugees, to the implementation of the training/placement and its completion, including accompanying measures in the company, was examined and analysed. In addition, the awareness of the measures taken by the Swabian Chamber of Industry and Commerce was examined from the perspective of the companies and vocational schools and potential for optimisation was identified. The results of the project received nationwide attention in media, politics and the BIHK.
