Digitization has arrived in the healthcare sector. Electronic data capture, digital communication, the use of mobile devices, and robotics have the potential to significantly contribute to improving the quality and efficiency of service provision. The possibilities are manifold, such as mobile applications, technical assistance systems, and telemedical services. The future development of digitization faces a number of obstacles, and there is also a need for action in science to answer pressing questions.

Which factors promote or hinder the progress of digitization in healthcare in Germany? What potentials exist for consultation, treatment, and care? How must new technologies be evaluated in terms of their impact and potential? What is the acceptance of new technologies among employees in the healthcare sector?

The DigiHealth Institute, headed by Prof. Dr. Walter Swoboda, is getting to the bottom of these questions and more.
