How does the HNU support me with start-up projects?

We support people interested in setting up their own business by providing free, strictly confidential advice, coaching, premises, events, networking as well as EXIST and Flügge applications.

How do I finance my foundation? What forms of financing are there?

There is no one way of financing - which one is the right one depends on the respective personal circumstances. In general, a distinction is made between the following types of financing, some of which can be combined: State funding, start-up competitions, crowdfunding, loans and credits, venture capital, business angels.

Which funding programmes are available for my start-up project?

Which funding programmes you may be eligible for and what the prospects of success are depends on the respective start-up projects. As a rule, this requires individual consideration.

We would be happy to advise you, especially on the Flügge (opens in a new window)or EXIST (opens in a new window) programmes, and explain what to do if you want to apply for a start-up grant. We are also happy to support you in the application process. 

Why and for whom do you need a business plan?

First the idea, then the business plan - there are many reasons why a business plan is indispensable, only a few examples are given here:

  • The business plan is an important document for various points of contact and is even required by many bodies, for example banks or investors.
  • There are also numerous business plan competitions where founders can submit their plans.
  • The business plan itself provides the founders with orientation and structure and thus a framework.

You do not know how to approach the topic of business plans? We would be happy to support you or refer you to the appropriate agencies.

What benefits do I have from participating in a business plan competition?

If you would like to have feedback on your business plan from a jury of experts made up of investors, entrepreneurs and people who know the start-up scene, then a business plan competition might be just the thing for you. 

In addition, top teams have the chance to win prizes, be included in the BayStartUP coaching programme and be invited to exclusive business angel and investor events.
