Taking off digitally: TTZ Leipheim hosts networking event on trends in production and logistics

Presentations and live demonstrations on topics such as robotics, AI and Industry 4.0

In his presentation, Jonas Zinn from Roland Berger explained how artificial intelligence enables many new use cases in industrial production that help to optimize processes and improve quality. Heidi Wiedmann and Max Priester from Advanced Applications GmbH provided insights into an SAP add-on for system-supported multi-project management, which ensures efficient resource allocation and prioritization of projects. Sven Kaluza from Omron Industrial Automation showed how the future of industrial automation can be driven forward in small steps with flexible and scalable robotics solutions. Prof. Dr. Achim Dehnert and Prof. Dr. Jürgen Grinninger from TTZ Günzburg used a live demonstration with a sales and maintenance bot to illustrate how AI can support plant managers and shape the future of reporting. Stefan Rössel from 4IoT shed light on the productivity paradox of Industry 4.0 and showed how SAP can facilitate the integration of various IT systems with an add-on and thus improve efficiency.

The second lecture slot focused on value creation through shopfloor approaches: Together with technology partners, students from the Systems Engineering course demonstrated various shopfloor solutions for production, logistics and quality assurance live in the TTZ learning and innovation factory.

Various technologies could also be thoroughly tested at the so-called marketplace: Augmented and Virtual Reality from Visoric, Machine Connectivity to SAP from 4IoT and Easy-to-Use MES from Advanced Applications. The TTZ also provided insights into current research topics, including zero emission networks and AI as a plant manager assistant. Prof. Dr. Jürgen Grinninger and Prof. Dr. Tobias Engel emphasized: “The new challenges such as greenhouse gas neutrality, shortage of skilled workers and stagnating productivity cannot be solved in isolation - we need networks of experts around the companies. As TTZ, we want to offer a platform for exchange, advice and research as well as our own low-cost solutions to current problems faced by companies in all sectors.”

The official program items were followed by a sun-downer networking session, where guests had the opportunity to continue conversations, make new contacts and round off the event in a relaxed atmosphere with cold drinks and barbecue.
