Exchange with Thorsten Freudenberger
Thorsten Freudenberger, Oliver Stipar, Regional Managing Director of the Swabian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, and Simone Strobel, Managing Director of the Ulm Innovation Region, spoke with Prof. Dr Uta M. Feser, Vice President Prof. Dr Julia Kormann and Vice President Prof. Dr Jens Kolb about the successful implementation of the Hightech Agenda Bayern at the university. The focus was on the strategic further development of the university, which will enable it to continue to fulfil its role as a driver of innovation in the region.
HNU tour with Jenny Schack, MdL
Prof Dr Uta M. Feser used her appointment with Jenny Schack and her office manager Florian Kaida to present the special profile and importance of the International Business School in the region. After an intensive exchange, they visited selected laboratories accompanied by Thorsten Freudenberger and thus gained direct insights into study, research and transfer at HNU. Jenny Schack, who is also a member of the Media Council of the Bavarian State Agency for New Media, was particularly interested in the HNU Media Centre. The head of the centre, Prof. Dr. Barbara Brandstetter, guided the group through the film, photo and sound studios and impressed them with the many ways in which the studios can be used for studying and teaching.
Prof Danny Franzreb and Niklas Müller showed visitors the various areas of the Innovation Space, where innovative solutions for digital transformation can be developed using design thinking, user experience design and lean management methods. Visitors learnt about rapid prototyping/model building and virtual and augmented reality applications, which students can use to test their ideas and successfully put them into practice. Prof Danny Franzreb then reported on a student project with Nivea, in which innovative solutions for accessible Nivea products were developed.
A special highlight was the visit to the HNU Founders Space, where Jenny Schack met the HNU founding team Campus Ready. The team, which won an EXIST start-up grant in 2024, presented their start-up idea and a prototype.
