This is the fifth term of office for Prof. Dr. Julia Kormann. Since 2010, she has been dedicated to the concerns of study and teaching; in 2019, the area of sustainability was added. Her experience and commitment in university management and in numerous innovative projects was convincing: In their public meeting on June 28 at the University Center Vöhlinschloss, the members of the University Council voted for a re-election beyond the term of office of a vice president, which is limited to twelve years according to the Basic Regulations, and subsequently re-elected Prof. Dr. Kormann as vice president of HNU without any dissenting votes.
"I am extremely pleased that Prof. Dr. Julia Kormann will remain with the university management," said HNU President Prof. Dr. Uta M. Feser. "Her re-election shows the high value placed on combining continuity and innovation at HNU."
In the area of sustainability, HNU aims to be a climate-neutral university by 2030 and thus contribute to achieving the climate protection goals of the Free State of Bavaria. A new Master's program, whose introduction was approved at the same University Council meeting and which will start in summer semester 2023, also contributes to this: Communication and Design for Sustainability. In the InnoPROF project, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the universities of Neu-Ulm and Biberach are strengthening the attractiveness of the two universities and the cross-state region. In the collaborative project ii.oo, funded by the Foundation Innovation in University Teaching, professors from HNU are working with eight other Bavarian universities to develop innovations in digital competency-based testing. HNU is aiming for system accreditation in 2023.

Prof. Dr. Julia Kormann (opens in a new window) was appointed Professor of Corporate Communications at Neu-Ulm University in 2009, and has held the office of Vice President at HNU since 2010. She heads the Center for Interdisciplinary, International and Engaged Learning (ZiieL) and is active in numerous regional and national networks and honorary posts. Prof. Dr. Julia Kormann studied at universities in Munich, Freiburg, Duisburg and Amherst/Massachusetts (USA) and is based in Ulm.
