The Swabian Innovation Masterclass is a joint initiative of the KANU university network—Swabian Innovation Nexus. The program’s goal is to equip students across universities with the skills for entrepreneurial thinking and action and to jointly advance startup support in the Swabian region. Through the collaboration of the four universities, expertise is pooled and joint programs are developed that create added value for students and the regional innovation ecosystem.
Enhanced Innovation Skills, Expanded Network
At the Innovation Summer Networking event, participants presented their key insights from the past few months and demonstrated the many different ways innovation can be conceived and shaped. Through four modules—ranging from future trends and social impact to business ideation and international entrepreneurship—they had further developed their innovation skills, collaborated across disciplines, and built a cross-university network. Once again, a key component of the program was the “International Entrepreneurship” module.
The program was rounded out by startup pitches from REVAMP CDI GmbH, Insides by Intimate Insights, and FarmAct. The founders shared their experiences in building their businesses and offered insights into the opportunities and challenges of starting a company.
The highlight of the ceremony: Minister of State Mehring presenting the certificates
The certificates of participation were presented by Bavaria’t3://page?uid=1013775&L=1s Minister of State for Digital Affairs, Dr. Fabian Mehring. In his remarks, he emphasized the great importance of innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology-driven startups for the future viability of Bavaria and Europe. Germany and Bavaria depend on bold entrepreneurs and technological innovations to secure their long-term international competitiveness and further strengthen Europe’s economic power.
Among the guests were HNU President Prof. Dr. Julia Kormann and HNU Vice President Prof. Dr. Jens Kolb. Together with representatives from the partner universities, Prof. Dr. Kormann emphasized the importance of inter-university collaboration for promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in the region. The collaboration among the four universities makes it possible to pool resources, establish shared structures, and provide students with easy access to startup support programs.
The event reflects the core philosophy of the Masterclass
During the networking session that followed, participants engaged in conversation with representatives from universities, startups, the business community, and the political sphere, and made new connections. Exchange across university and disciplinary boundaries is a central component of the Schwaben Innovation Masterclass. In addition to specialized knowledge, the program provides valuable insights into startup and innovation practices and fosters networking among participants. This gives rise to new ideas, collaborations, and inspiration for future startup projects. The Schwaben Innovation Masterclass thus combines theory and practice while also strengthening cross-university exchange in the region.
