How did your application to the Max Weber Program come about?
I was nominated for the program by the examination office because I was among the top three percent of all students. I then found two great professors who supported me in the application process.
You were nominated, among other things, because of your social commitment to integration work. Can you tell us a little more about that?
I am involved on a voluntary basis in the association Menschlichkeit Ulm. Our goal is to create a welcoming culture for refugees in Germany and to bring people of all backgrounds together. With this in mind, I regularly give German tutoring, for example, and coordinate other tutoring tandems. Joint sports activities or buddy projects are also part of the Menschlichkeit program. Above all, I found our hiking trips incredibly enjoyable. Right now, of course, our help is also very much needed in the refugee facilities for Ukrainians, where I help with the food distribution.
It's great to get to know so many different people in this way and to help them find a new home in Germany where they can feel at home.
How do you benefit from the scholarship?
As already mentioned, further education alongside my studies is very important to me. The financial support from the Max Weber Program helps here, of course. I am also looking forward to the wide range of courses that scholarship holders can choose from. There will soon be an information event on this, which I am already curious about.
What are your (professional) plans for the future?
I'm really looking forward to finally being able to work after my bachelor's degree. I would like to work in the field of supply chain management or quality management
