University professors are urgently sought after - but the application process and the specific profile of requirements for a university professorship are complex and unknown to many potential applicants. The publication "Karriereziel Hochschulprofessur. Paths to a vocation and requirements in everyday working life" aims to change this.
In his new work, Prof. Dr. Achim Weiand gives applicants a comprehensive overview of what needs to be considered on the path to a university professorship: What is the legal situation? How do my students learn - and how do I teach them? On what topics can I conduct research and under what conditions? The book also provides insights into the first 100 days on the job and explains how good teaching can succeed. The contents are illustrated by a wide range of practical tips from the author, who has been through this career path himself.

More on this topic at HNU
The need for professorial staff will also continue to increase at HNU until 2030. The universities of Biberach and Neu-Ulm are addressing this challenge as part of the federal-state program "FH-Personal". In the joint project InnoPROF, both universities are developing new measures for personnel recruitment and development in order to generate personnel competencies for digital and sustainable innovation and transformation.
