SCRUM workshop: know-how for project management in nursing care

26.11.2024, Research:

As part of the CARE REGIO project, in which Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU) is also involved, the workshop “Agile project management in care - SCRUM Bootstrap” took place on November 11, 2024 at Vöhlinschloss in Illertiss. In addition to the practical and network partners of the project, representatives of numerous care facilities from all over Bavarian Swabia took part to learn about and discuss innovative approaches to care organization.

The CARE REGIO joint project is developing innovative, digitally supported care concepts to relieve the burden on carers and relatives, promote the independence of those in need of care and make care future-proof. The project measures also included the Scrum workshop, which was led by certified Scrum master and design thinking coach Johannes Rein.

The participants first received a theoretical introduction to the topic of Scrum and the added value that this framework offers in their field of activity. They then worked together under expert guidance to create an advertising or image video for the care sector. Prof. Dr. Walter Swoboda, research professor at the DigiHealth Institute and head of the CARE REGIO sub-project at HNU, led a lively discussion: using the Delphi method, he asked the participants which areas of care should be digitized - and which should definitely not. The answers were followed by a lively exchange among the participants, which provided revealing insights into the everyday lives of nursing staff and managers in the care sector.
