Under the motto “AI innovations and expertise - HNU as your partner”, HNU presented its broad portfolio of AI competencies and transfer offers. Visitors were able to find out about innovative projects and practical solutions at several stations:
- Technology Transfer Center Günzburg: With an interactive application for emotion recognition through explainable AI (XAI), TTZ Günzburg showed how AI decisions can be made transparent through heat maps. The application analyzes emotions on the basis of images and makes the AI's decision-making processes comprehensible - an important contribution to building trust in AI systems.
- Technology Transfer Center Leipheim: TTZ Leipheim presented an AI-supported solution for the real-time verification of manual picking processes. With the help of cost-effective hardware and intelligent object recognition, process reliability in logistics is significantly increased - an innovative step towards digital transformation.
- Centre for Postgraduate and Professional Studies: The centre presented tailor-made further education programmes relating to AI and digitalization. The programs are aimed at specialists and managers and use interactive formats to convey current topics in a practical way and strengthen digital skills.
One particular highlight was the specialist lecture “AI from the region for the region” by Professor Dr. Jürgen Grinninger and Professor Dr. Jens Kolb. They used specific use cases to show how companies can increase their competitiveness through process automation and intelligent data analysis.
The AI Convention 2025 brought together more than 350 participants with inspiring presentations and diverse networking opportunities. HNU used the opportunity to make new contacts, gather new ideas and underline its role as a strong partner for AI innovations in the region.
