From brand strategy to AI: students gain insights at Beurer

18.11.2025, Study:

Practical learning through direct exchange with industry: As part of the module Marketing Communication 2, students from the Information Management and Corporate Communication (IMUK) programme at Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU) visited Beurer in Ulm. Prof. Dr. Wilke Hammerschmidt organised the visit on behalf of HNU and gave students valuable insights into current topics and trends in e-commerce marketing as well as the company's brand strategy.

In addition to learning about Beurer, the students also got to know the company during a tour of the building and found out more about the brand and its new slogan, "Healthy. Life. Style."

The students found the discussions on the question of how companies can position themselves in the increasingly competitive online retail market – and what role AI tools play in this – particularly interesting. The participants learned how Beurer uses innovative approaches to assert itself in the digital marketplace.

Insights and outlooks

In addition, third-semester students gained inspiring insights into possible career paths and were able to make valuable contacts: Kathrin Schmutz, who studied IMUK herself, reported on her practical experience, and Sarah-Sophie Guntau, currently on an internship semester at Beurer, provided insights into her experiences.

The exchange once again highlighted the importance of practical learning formats and the diverse career opportunities in the region.
