What made you decide to study at HNU?
Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences, together with Ulm University of Applied Sciences, offered me the best of both worlds. On the one hand, there was the technical aspect, and on the other, the business aspect at Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences. I had a keen interest in both fields, yet I still had the opportunity to choose my specialisations as my studies progressed.


What experiences during your studies had a particular impact on you?
I was impressed by the practical focus of the universities and the lecturers. Being able to apply academic knowledge in a practical way meant I was immediately able to put what I’d learnt into practice after graduating.


What was your first job like, and how did you come across it?
In my first role as an energy manager, I was able to put what I’d learnt at university straight into practice and had a great deal of freedom to shape my work. My advice to all students and graduates: be bold, try new things and be proactive. Employers and companies really appreciate that.


What are your career goals for the future?
Our vision at GRÜNKERN is to make energy and sustainability management accessible to every business. We create frameworks that enable companies to actively manage their resources – in a pragmatic, effective and practical way. This ensures that sustainability is not seen as an additional burden, but as a matter of course, whilst our clients focus on their core business.
