Programming made easy: HNU boot camp for students

27.06.2022, Press Release :

Develop your own apps in just one week: That's what Neu-Ulm University offers schoolgirls and schoolgirls at the free AppInventors programming bootcamp. From August 8 to 12, 2022, interested students with no prior knowledge can gain their first insights into IT and try out self-programmed smartphone apps. Registration is possible until July 20, 2022.

In the AppInventors bootcamp, participants learn to program simple apps for smartphones using the Scratch programming language and to steer Lego Mindstorms robots through a course. The program is aimed at students in ninth grade and above who are interested in diving into the world of programming and developing their own applications together with others. No previous knowledge is required; all that is needed is a smartphone with Internet access.

The event is free of charge and includes lunch. It will take place from August 8 to 12, 2022 (Monday to Friday; 10 till 14 o'clock) in presence at HNU. Interested parties can register by July 20, 2022. More information and the registration form can be found at https://www.hnu.de/bootcamp-appinventors. For general questions, please contact bootcamp-appinventors@hnu.de.

The bootcamp will be led by Prof. Dr. Dany Meyer (opens in a new window), who is Professor of Software Engineering at HNU. The year before last, she received the "Award for Outstanding Digital Teaching 2020" from the Friends of HNU. Professor Dany Meyer is supported by a team of students and a research assistant.
