Communicating the latest research knowledge and technological expertise to strengthen the innovative power and competitiveness of companies in the region: With this goal in mind, the TTZ Günzburg organized an information and networking event at the end of July on the topic of "Securing the future for companies: Using the latest generative AI technologies". Around 40 representatives of small and medium-sized companies from the Günzburg region took the opportunity to find out about practical applications for artificial intelligence.
The participants were welcomed by Prof. Dr. Philipp Brune, Scientific Director of the TTZ Günzburg. In a brief overview, he presented the TTZ's areas of activity in the field of data analytics and artificial intelligence and provided insights into ongoing projects such as "KI-Transfer Plus", in which regional companies are trained to become practical AI users within nine months. Günzburg District Administrator Dr. Hans Reichhart also welcomed the participating companies in his welcoming address and emphasized the important role of synergies between the university and industry in promoting innovation and growth in the region.
Keynote speech on the latest trends and possible applications of Generative Artificial Intelligence
In his subsequent keynote speech, Prof. Dr. Jens Kolb, Vice President for Transfer and Postgraduate Studies at HNU and AI expert, gave an overview of the basics of Generative Artificial Intelligence and used practical and everyday examples to explain how diverse the areas of application of artificial intelligence are in companies: For example, it can support the creation of marketing content, response generation for emails, document summarization as well as software development and quality assurance. He emphasized that AI should primarily be seen as an assistant or sparring partner that can increase productivity and simplify and support everyday work processes, but in no way replace human judgement.
Exchange between science and business
A snack and get-together following the event enabled participants to exchange ideas, make contacts and talk directly to experts in the field of generative AI.
