Starting signal for the HNU Founders Board: Impulses for the start-up culture of the future

27.05.2025, Transfer:

The first meeting of the HNU Founders Board opened a new chapter in the strategic development of the start-up ecosystem at Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU). Representatives from the university, business and regional institutions came together to work together on the further development of the HNU Founders Space - one of the most active early-stage start-up centers at small universities of applied sciences.

In future, the Founders Board will act as a driving force and strategic advisory body for entrepreneurship and start-up topics at HNU. The aim is to make start-up culture visible, sustainable and measurable - with a clear focus on impact, exchange and collaboration across institutional boundaries.

"Today's event has shown the potential of coordinated collaboration. Our aim is to incorporate practical findings directly into strategic decisions - and to actively involve all stakeholders, from students to investors," emphasizes Prof. Dr. Thomas Bayer, project manager of the HNU Founders Space.

In addition to the strategic exchange, the focus of the kick-off event was above all on getting to know the participants personally. Specific fields of action were identified in discussion formats - from strengthening interdisciplinary cooperation and low-threshold access to strategic focus and impact measurement.

"The Founders Board is further proof that entrepreneurial thinking is an integral part of our university strategy. We create spaces in which innovations can grow - with regional roots and international connections," explains Prof. Dr. Jens Kolb, Vice President for Transfer and Continuing Education at Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences.

The work of the Founders Board will continue on a quarterly basis - with the aim of shaping the next step in start-up support together with all stakeholders: innovative, impact-oriented and forward-looking.
