The HNU 3D Printing Challenge is aimed at 3D printing enthusiasts who want to develop and advance innovative, commercially viable product ideas, either alone or in a team, and took place for the fifth time this year.
As part of “Next Gen Manufacturing,” initiator Prof. Dr. Oliver Kunze presented the posters of the participants who had made it to the final round of the competition in October. Their ideas offered the expert audience an insight into current and future innovation potential in the field of 3D printing and additive manufacturing. The positive response to the poster presentation reflected the high quality of the projects submitted.
Political support for 3D printing and AM technologies
A special highlight was the visit of Bavaria's Minister of Science Markus Blume, who opened “Next Gen Manufacturing” together with Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger. Blume had already served as patron of 3DDC 2025 at HNU. His commitment underscores the growing importance of 3D printing and AM technologies for research, education, and Bavaria as a business location.
HNU boosts visibility of its 3D printing activities
Participating in the congress gave HNU the chance to showcase its growing activities in the field of 3D printing and to promote networking. The presentation of the finalist projects marked the conclusion of 3DDC 2025, which focused on innovative approaches and creative solutions.
