25 Bachelor's and Master's students at Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU) were awarded the Deutschlandstipendium scholarship on 14 November for their excellent academic achievements and special social commitment. The award ceremony took place at Vöhlinschloss Illertissen, where scholarship holders and representatives of 25 sponsoring companies from the region came together.

In her welcoming speech, HNU Vice President Prof Dr Julia Kormann spoke about the HNU's culture, which has now matured over thirty years. Starting out as a branch of Kempten University of Applied Sciences, HNU has grown enormously with currently 4,300 students, two technology transfer centres and the right to award doctorates. "An organisation is characterised by the values and customs that it lives by. As Germany Scholarship holders, you are very important to HNU - with your remarkable commitment, you are shaping our culture today and in the years to come!" said Prof Dr Julia Kormann. After a champagne reception, she handed over the scholarships, whose funding period runs from September 2024 to the end of August 2025. An international student was also honoured for the first time. Musical accompaniment was provided by Jo! Loop, a one-man band, the scholarship holders and company representatives rounded off the evening in a relaxed atmosphere.

The programme supports high-achieving and socially committed Bachelor's and Master's students of all nationalities, regardless of their income. Each scholarship is jointly financed by private sponsors and the state and amounts to 300 euros per month.
