After the welcome by HNU Vice President Prof Dr Julia Kormann, who introduced the children and parents in the lecture theatre to HNU and its profile, the guests split into four groups. They took it in turns to attend the forty-five-minute programmes.
Robotics Workshop
One of the offers was a robotics workshop with Professor Dr Erica Weilemann and the study ambassadors Annika and Merlin in the HNU TechLab. Children learnt about the principles of computer science with the indi robot and steered it through a course. The educational robot encourages independent problem solving and supports the development of spatial and logical thinking.
Marketing Workshop
"Sell, sell, sell - how to make your shop a success" was the motto of Prof Dr Barbara Dannenmann's marketing workshop. The children learnt about the 4 P's of marketing in a playful way. They developed a product and its price, applied sales strategies and decorated their little cardboard shop.
In the spotlight of the media centre
Camera rolling: Together with Ulrich Joachim, Stefan Rogg and student assistants Sophie and Leon, the children took a look behind the scenes of the film and photo studio at the media centre. They were allowed to record messages in front of the green screen, give stage directions, try out different camera lenses and have photos taken of themselves in front of the screen.
Games get-together in the library
Whether puzzles, Lotti Karotti or Mensch ärgere Dich nicht: fun and games were on offer for the children in the library. While the parents were given a tour of the library by Claudia Mann, the children were able to choose between various board and card games and play with the study ambassadors Tabea, Ana and Alexander. They were also given a brief insight into the library as a place of learning for students.
