Founders Space team reaches the final of the Generation-D competition

10.07.2025, Transfer:

Their start-up project impressed the jury: the ShareWays start-up team beat its competitors in the renowned Generation-D social entrepreneurship competition and is now in the final. With ShareWays, HNU employee Michael Junger and his co-founders developed an all-in-one platform that connects people with and without disabilities in local and long-distance public transport. Their goal: barrier-free travel for everyone - in the long term and throughout Europe.

Generation-D is a Germany-wide ideas competition for socially relevant and sustainable start-up concepts. The annual competition is aimed at students and young founders who develop innovative solutions for social, ecological or economic challenges. A jury from business, science and civil society awards the best ideas with prize money, individual mentoring and professional coaching, media visibility and access to a growing network from business and politics.

Pioneering concept: ShareWays enables inclusive, flexible and safe travel

Numerous founders submitted their ideas this year - Michael Junger, Armend Syla and Kevin Tögel impressed the judges with their project ShareWays and secured a ticket to the final. “Mobility is a basic right, and yet it remains a daily challenge for millions of people with disabilities,” says Michael Junger, who works in the area of start-up consulting at HNU, explaining the background to the project. "This is where our idea comes in: We are creating a digital platform for barrier-free mobility that intelligently connects people with and without disabilities." A user-friendly app is designed to make traveling easier for people with all kinds of disabilities - and to go beyond a mere platform for finding transportation: The founders want to break down barriers, build bridges and make an innovative contribution to inclusive mobility.

Next steps: Pitch by pitch to the final in September

ShareWays will now take part in the next three stages of the Generation D competition: On July 12, the Leader Pitch will take place in front of renowned representatives from business and politics. As part of the Founders Spotlight on July 18, the founding team will give a personal pitch in front of Stefan Vilsmeier, CEO of Brainlab AG 20, and in September, the final pitches will take place with an award ceremony at the Brainlab headquarters in Munich.
