HNU Connect 2025: Successful networking platform for marketing and communication trends

07.10.2025, University News:

From practical AI tools to a comprehensible presentation of the EU AI Act: The HNU Connect 2025 event set new standards for exchange between science and practice in the field of marketing and corporate communications. Around 110 guests—twice as many as last year—accepted the invitation from Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU) and the Ulm/Neu-Ulm Marketing Club and met at HNU to experience current trends, innovative tools, and practical inspiration.

Varied presentations

Prof. Dr. Andrea Kimpflinger, Halyna Schweizer, Prof. Dr. Wilke Hammerschmidt, Prof. Dr. Ulrich Bihler (all from HNU) and Thomas Scheer (Marketingclub Ulm/Neu-Ulm) welcomed the guests and gave an overview of the day.

The program offered a mix of specialist presentations and networking opportunities. Julius Ulmer (rrooaarr interactive solutions GmbH) opened with a presentation on marketing automation. He showed how marketing automation tools can give companies more space for creative processes while making routine tasks more efficient. In addition to the basics and practical examples, he presented specific tools and quick wins.

Alexa Frey (WWS Rechtsanwälte Hochheimer & Partner) gave a clear overview of the EU AI Act, providing valuable guidance for marketing managers on labeling requirements and copyright issues.

After a networking break, HNU students Hanna Keppler, Tabitha Haug, and Felix Gollmitzer presented innovative AI tools for everyday marketing. Their tried-and-tested application examples met with great interest from the audience.

The event concluded with a keynote speech followed by a panel discussion on the topic of charisma in digital communication. Jochen Mayer (Charisma Training School) and Julia Lehmann (OnFore) joined the moderators in discussing how digital forms of communication are changing and how personal charisma and charisma in the digital age contribute significantly to successful communication – both in customer contact and in dealing with AI-based systems.

Space for exchange and networking

The event ended with a get-together where participants exchanged insights gained during the day. The response was overwhelmingly positive: “It feels like a community is growing here that wants more than just to listen to lectures,” summarized one participant.

The organizers, Prof. Dr. Andrea Kimpflinger, Halyna Schweizer, Prof. Dr. Wilke Hammerschmidt, Prof. Dr. Ulrich Bihler, and Thomas Scheer, are optimistic about the future: HNU Connect could establish itself as an integral part of the regional communications landscape – and beyond.
