Maren Kristin Kern impressively demonstrated how nervousness before performances can be used not as an obstacle, but as a valuable source of energy. With mental strategies, breathing techniques, and targeted exercises for voice, body language, and posture, she provided concrete tools for a confident stage presence.
“We now know that our fears of stage fright are okay. Maren Kern inspired us and impressed us with the fact that we can gain control over them and surpass ourselves,” said Semanur Cepik and Sena Nur Sancak, students at HNU, summarizing the event.
There was a particular focus on authenticity and self-confidence: it is not perfection, but authenticity that is the key to convincing performances. The event provided the participants with lasting inspiration for their future performances on the stages they will be stepping onto.
Equality work at HNU
The central concern of HNU's Commissioner for the Equality of Women in Science and the Arts, Prof. Dr. Anna Meinhardt, is to promote women at all levels of science. Visibility and participation in all areas are of great importance to her. Women should be involved wherever development, discussion, and decision-making take place. The equality initiatives at HNU promote personal and professional development and create spaces for constructive exchange. Our activities address all academic target groups, from students to lecturers and research assistants to professors. Workshops for schoolgirls complement our measures to lay the foundations for equal opportunities in digital participation at an early stage.
