Focus on AI & Cybersecurity: HNU Visits Beurer

26.05.2026, University News:

What role do artificial intelligence and cybersecurity play in current and future developments at universities and in companies? HNU President Prof. Dr. Julia Kormann and Ivanka Burger, Head of Project Development, Transfer, and Partnerships, discussed these questions during a visit to Beurer GmbH with Managing Director Marco Bühler and Isnije Veli, Team Lead for Recruiting & Human Resources Development.

Prof. Dr. Julia Kormann outlined the key priorities of her presidency under the theme “Needs-Based Innovations for the Region.” The topic of artificial intelligence and the resulting demands on future professionals were the subject of particularly intense discussion. Among other things, the discussion focused on how course offerings and practice-oriented teaching formats can be continuously refined to best prepare students for the professional world. Together, they explored ways to expand the existing partnership in the future through additional hands-on projects, more in-depth specializations, and new opportunities for students.

HNU and Beurer share a common goal: to strengthen the transfer of knowledge between academia and industry and to actively help shape innovation in the region. “This partnership is a perfect fit for us: Beurer is an international brand, and HNU is an international business school,” affirms Managing Director Marco Bühler.

About the Partnership with Beurer

Beurer GmbH has been a strategic partner of HNU since 2023. The partnership includes, among other things, practical projects and field trips. From the outset, the company has been involved in the university’s startup initiatives; since 2024, it has also participated in the AI Innovation Circle, and since 2025, in the Sustainability Innovation Circle.
