The workshop focused on the realization that health literacy is not only important for personal well-being but is also an essential prerequisite for responsible leadership. Participants explored the fundamentals of resilience, mental self-management, and the effects of stress on the body and mind. Using heart rate variability (HRV) measurements, they also gained insights into their individual stress levels.
Practical Tips for Everyday Life
In addition to theoretical foundations, there was a special focus on practical application. The students reflected on their personal resources and inner drivers, explored basic psychological needs, and developed concrete strategies for healthy daily routines. They also learned methods for stress management and mindfulness.
Tim Meßenzehl, one of the participants offered a positive assessment: “What I liked best was the balance between theoretical foundations and interactive sessions. Both in individual exercises and in group work, I was able to deeply explore my inner motivators. For the rest of my life, I’ll carry with me the idea of breathing in and out through the heart. I’ll also continue practicing juggling, as it’s very effective for clearing my head during stressful times.”
Promoting Future Skills
The workshop is part of the Käpsele support program, through which HNU prepares particularly high-achieving and dedicated students for future leadership and management roles. In addition to academic excellence, the program focuses primarily on key competencies such as communication, teamwork, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and personal development. The Käpsele program is closely integrated with HNU’s Student Health Management program. The workshop was made possible and funded through a partnership with Techniker Krankenkasse.
