New qualification program at HNU trains company employees to become innovative digital experts

13.04.2022, Press Release :

Digital transformation and business models, new work, disruptive technologies, electromobility - interested specialists and managers from small and medium-sized enterprises can train in these highly topical subject areas from April 25 as part of a new free qualification program at the Institute for Digital Transformation (IDT) at Neu-Ulm University (HNU). The offer "Digitalkompetenzen@Bayerisch-Schwaben" is part of a REACT-EU funding action of the European Social Fund (ESF), which promotes the transfer of knowledge from science to business.

For successful digitization, small and medium-sized enterprises need one thing above all: internal digital competence. They must prepare their employees for the challenges associated with digital transformation and qualify them for the change. The online offer "Digitalexpert:in in five modules" as part of the qualification program "Digitalkompetenzen@Bayerisch-Schwaben" teaches these relevant competencies: The course offers digitalization managers, specialists and executives as well as all interested parties the opportunity to design digital business models, identify the potential of disruptive technologies and develop an open culture of innovation. The offer is financed by funding from the REACT-EU funding action "Professional qualification - knowledge transfer from universities to companies", in which HNU was awarded a contract in November 2021.

Conception, implementation and stabilization: Mastering the digital transformation with the right skills

In five modules conducted online, HNU professors Prof. Manfred Plechaty (opens in a new window), Prof. Dr. Klaus Lang (opens in a new window) and Prof. Dr. Daniel Schallmo (opens in a new window), who have been conducting research, transferring know-how and providing support for digital transformation at IDT (opens in a new window) for several years, guide employees through essential aspects and tasks of digitalization. Once they have successfully completed the course, the employees take their newly acquired knowledge back to their companies, where they initiate and implement new and innovative digital initiatives. The course participants thus become in-house digital experts who contribute to shaping the future of the company through their personal development and by building up specific skills and methods. For the further development and implementation of company-specific approaches, specialist agencies such as the Technology Transfer Center (TTZ) Günzburg (opens in a new window) can also be referred.
