What you will learn and how to apply it

Learning Objectives

Design modular workflow architectures: You will learn to break down complex processes into maintainable sub-workflows and connect any system via universal API requests (HTTP).

Build your own knowledge bases (RAGs): You will create a vector database and populate it with your own documents (e.g., PDFs, FAQs) to establish a reliable knowledge base for your AI.

Develop interactive chatbots: You will build a functional chatbot that answers queries in natural language, drawing on your previously created knowledge base.

Operate automations professionally (deployment & hosting): You will understand the fundamental strategies for ensuring your workflows run reliably and securely in continuous operation.

Apply advanced concepts: You will gain insights into using local AI models for maximum data security.

Prerequisite

Successful completion of the basic course "AI Automation for Everyday Work with n8n" or comparable practical experience in creating n8n workflows (e.g., confident handling of nodes, credentials, and data linking).

Methodology

Project-based learning: The course follows a continuous practical project from concept to finished agent.

Live development: All steps are implemented live and transparently within the tool.

Expert insights: Discussion of best practices, typical pitfalls, and strategic considerations for implementation in a company.

FAQ

Do I need programming skills?

The course is designed in a "low-code" format. Processes are configured and connected visually, without requiring any programming knowledge.

What is the difference to Zapier?

n8n offers high flexibility and control over data. Unlike Zapier, which is only available as a cloud solution, n8n can be self-hosted. This often results in lower costs and the implementation of more complex workflows.

Is n8n GDPR-compliant?

n8n can be operated on your own servers or with European providers. This allows for greater control over data storage, which is relevant for use in professional environments. Specific GDPR compliance depends on the individual implementation, the connected services, and the organizational measures in place.

Who is the course aimed at?

To everyone who wants to make their daily work more efficient – from specialists in marketing and HR to IT enthusiasts who want to automate routine tasks to gain time for value-adding activities.

What exactly will I learn in the program?

The course covers the basics of automation, the integration of various tools (e.g., email, CRM or AI interfaces), and the step-by-step creation and management of your own workflows with n8n.

Will I receive a certificate?

Upon completion of the course, an official certificate of participation will be issued by Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU). This confirms participation in the training course and the content covered in the areas of n8n and AI automation.
