New issue of breitseite magazine: “artifical”

19.03.2026, Study:

The new issue of breitseite is here—this time with the theme “artificial.” Under the direction of Prof. Andrea Kimpflinger and co-instructor Sabine Geller, a graduate designer, HNU students in the Information Management and Corporate Communication (IMUK) program explore in the 17th issue how our lives, learning, and communication are changing amid the tension between artificial and human intelligence.

As always, this issue of breitseite was created through the creative efforts of students enrolled in the “Communications Project” module: In just one semester, they conceived, designed, and produced the magazine and everything that goes with it—from the initial concept, editorial planning, and creation of written and visual content to the production of the print magazine and its digital communication channels, including the website and social media.  One team of students was responsible for securing advertising to facilitate printing at a regional print shop. Another team was responsible for project management and communication via the Moodle e-learning platform.

In the articles of this new issue, students engage critically and creatively with artificial intelligence: from everyday applications of generative AI to questions of authenticity and manipulation of digital content, and on to future scenarios for higher education, the workplace, and society. These thematic focuses are complemented by articles on ethical aspects, legal gray areas, and personal accounts of the authors’ own experiments with AI tools.

The latest issue of *Breitseite* is now available in print at HNU; the digital version is available online at www.breitseite.net.
