05.06.2025, Study:

Intercultural exchange and exciting insights into the economy of Bosnia and Herzegovina: At the invitation of Prof. Dr Elmar Steurer, a delegation from the University of Travnik visited Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU) and organised two courses in the Bachelor's degree programme in Business Administration. Prof Dr Samir Smailbegovic, his research assistant Aja Smječanin and the students Sumeja Mašin, Ilda Pilavdžić and Ajdin Dizdarević gave the HNU students lively insights into the economic, political and cultural conditions of their home country. The visit was organised by the HNU International Office, which laid the foundations for future cooperation with a varied supporting programme.

Aja Smječanin kicked things off with a lecture on Bosnian culture and the mission of the University of Travnik. The following day, Ilda Pilavdžić presented in-depth information on Bosnia's economic situation - in fluent German. Prof Dr Samir Smailbegovic concluded the event with a vivid presentation of the political and economic developments in his country and their impact on society, underpinned by personal experiences.

Visit to the HNU founding team Campus Ready

The lectures were followed by an intensive dialogue with the HNU founding team "Campus Ready". The focus was on the role and benefits of artificial intelligence in higher education - a topic that met with great interest.

A highlight for the guests from Bosnia and Herzegovina was their participation in the festive gala organised by the sponsoring association Technologie Förderungs-Unternehmen GmbH (TFU) of the Ulm region to mark its 40th anniversary under the motto "Sparks fly and shreds fly".
