With around 1,700 students on six Bachelor's and seven Master's degree programmes, the Faculty of Information Management is currently the second largest faculty at the university. It stands for innovative teaching, practical projects and applied research in close cooperation with regional and national partners from business and society.
Review by Prof Dr Achim Dehnert
Looking back on his time in office, Prof Dr Achim Dehnert says: “The coronavirus period was certainly the biggest challenge - and also the biggest highlight of my time in office. We used the crisis as an opportunity and opened up new subject areas as part of the High-Tech Agenda. This enabled us to attract committed professors and strategically develop our faculty. In a phenomenal feat of strength, our faculty has managed to develop two new Bachelor's and three new Master's degree programmes during this time and successfully achieve system accreditation.”
In addition to his position as dean, Prof. Dr Achim Dehnert was also head of the MBA Digital Leadership and IT Management programme and the faculties' data protection officer. His research focuses included the areas of business models and digital transformation, business models based on blockchain technology and AI applications, particularly in the field of NLP and AI-supported chatbots. He taught on the bachelor's degree programme Information Management Automotive and Continuing Education.
Outlook by Prof Dr Oliver Grieble
Prof. Dr Oliver Grieble has been a professor at the faculty since 2012 and is head of the bachelor's degree programme in Digital Enterprise Management (B.Sc.) as well as head of the Competence Centre for Agile Product and System Development (opens in a new window). His courses include General and Specialised Business Administration, Agile Project Management with Scrum and International IT Project Management.
"I am looking forward to actively shaping the Faculty of Information Management - and therefore HNU as a whole. The particular challenge will certainly be to keep an eye on day-to-day operations as well as actively shaping the strategic direction of the faculty."
