20 HNU students receive Germany Scholarship

27.11.2025, Press Release :

Outstanding academic achievements and exceptional social commitment: this year, Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU) awarded 20 outstanding students with the Germany Scholarship. Representatives from the 17 sponsoring companies in the region were also present at the award ceremony on 26 November at Vöhlinschloss Illertissen.

"As a university, we have a special responsibility," said Prof. Dr. Julia Kormann in her welcome speech. “We must pay attention – to social developments, but also to each other. Change is here to stay. The good news is that if we embrace it and actively shape it, it will help us move forward. The Germany Scholarship stands for exactly that: taking responsibility, shaping the future and finding solutions together. You are our best students, you are committed. Be the ones who shape the future together with us. Our mission as a university of applied sciences is to understand the challenges of the future and translate them into solutions. Embrace this mindset and be creators.”

After a champagne reception, she presented the scholarships, which will run from September 2025 to the end of August 2026. An international student from Pakistan was also honoured for her achievements. Accompanied by music from Jo! Loop, a one-man band, the scholarship holders and company representatives ended the evening with a relaxed get-together.

The Germany Scholarship supports high-achieving and socially committed bachelor's and master's students of all nationalities, regardless of income. Each scholarship is jointly funded by private sponsors and the state and amounts to €300 per month. In addition to financial and non-material support, the Germany Scholarship provides a platform for exchange between recipients and sponsors.
