PwC offers insights into auditing: guest lecture at the faculty of healthcare management

13.05.2026, Study:

What is a typical workday like at Germany’s leading accounting firm? How is an annual financial statement audit conducted? These questions were the focus of a guest lecture by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in the Business Studies in Healthcare Management programme at Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU). The event was organized by Prof. Dr. Manja Rausendorf-Marzina as part of the “Accounting and Taxes” course.

The presentation focused on current issues in national and international accounting and their implementation in business practice. Using concrete case studies, PwC experts illustrated how audit processes are structured and the challenges companies face in this regard. Particular emphasis was placed on digital developments in accounting: Modern analysis and audit software plays a central role in auditing today and is bringing about lasting changes to work processes.

Career Prospects in a Personal Exchange

During the subsequent discussion, students had the opportunity to ask questions and talk with Anita Botzenhardt, a partner in the Health Care and Pharma practice, about career paths at PwC. It became clear just how diverse the entry opportunities in auditing are.

“The students found the event to be very enriching. They not only gained vivid practical insights but also guidance for their own career paths,” reports Prof. Dr. Manja Rausendorf-Marzina.
