09.09.2025, University News:

Focus on teaching skills: Dr Felix Holl, postdoc at Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU), has successfully completed the "Zertifikat Hochschullehre Bayern Profistufe" programme, demonstrating the targeted development of his teaching skills. The award, which was presented personally by HNU President Prof. Dr Uta M. Feser, also underlines the university's commitment to continuously ensuring and improving the quality of its teaching.

On the way to the "Bavarian University Teaching Certificate", academics undergo a structured further education programme in the field of university teaching that is based on international standards. The programme provides evidence of pedagogical and didactic aptitude as well as the systematic further development of teaching skills. The modular programme can be completed in a basic, advanced or in-depth level and covers the subject areas of teaching and learning concepts, presentations and communication, testing, reflection and evaluation as well as counselling and mentoring.

Valuable building block for excellent teaching

"The HNU congratulates Dr Felix Holl on this great success," said Prof Dr Uta M. Feser at the presentation of the certificate. “It shows how committed our lecturers are to developing their teaching to the highest level. We see it as a central task to promote this commitment - because the quality of our teaching is decisive for the success of our students' studies and their future viability. With the Bavarian Centre for Innovative Teaching (BayZiel), we universities have a strong partner at our side.”

"The certificate Hochschullehre Bayern Profistufe was an important milestone for my habilitation and opened up new perspectives for my teaching through intensive coaching and dealing with learning objectives," said Felix Holl, who completed the programme for one year. He is the first graduate of the Profistufe programme at HNU.
