Technologies and expertise are constantly evolving in many sectors. Continuing education at the cutting edge of science ensures that professional skills remain up-to-date on the labour market. The 19 universities offer further education courses in areas such as digitalisation and technology, business and management, health and social affairs. In addition to current specialist topics, seminars and workshops on various key competences and soft skills round off the offer.
Formats and degrees - practice-orientated and flexible
The reasons for opting for a part-time continuing education programme are varied and individual. Bavarian universities offer a wide range of formats and degrees, with options ranging from special one-day workshops and in-depth certificate courses lasting several weeks to flexible part-time degree programmes leading to a Bachelor's or Master's degree. Flexible course design and modular building block systems enable participants to attend further qualifications that match their professional goals and personal circumstances.
How do you find the right continuing education programme? A central component of the information on offer is a database that helps interested parties to find the wide range of further education opportunities at Bavarian universities quickly and clearly. This is made possible through co-operation with the hoch & weit information portal of the German Rectors' Conference.
Further training in the company
Qualified employees are an added value for companies and Bavarian universities are a strong regional partner. Customised further education and in-house training courses offer many advantages for companies, public authorities and social institutions. Innovative training concepts, joint coordination of content and formats as well as recognised qualifications promote and retain talent, strengthen innovative power and contribute to employee satisfaction.
During the kick-off event on 28 November 2024 at the Bavarian Centre for Innovative Teaching in Munich, education consultants and HR managers had the opportunity to get to know the diversity and quality of higher education and to network. Participants were given insights into various topics such as further training for healthcare professions or the construction industry, AI potential in SMEs as well as customised offers for companies and further training for non-academics.

The project is coordinated by the Practice and Transfer division of BayZiel - Bavarian Centre for Innovative Teaching. The new information service facilitates access to lifelong learning and provides expertise that reflects the current state of application-orientated research and teaching. Professionals and companies benefit from this - throughout Bavaria.
