The academic ceremony was officially opened by the Vice-President for Transfer and Continuing Education, Prof. Dr. Jens Kolb, who emphasised the central role of the ZfW in providing practical and part-time continuing education.
Among the guests of honour were Prof. Dr. Uta M. Feser, President of HNU, and Katrin Albsteiger, Mayor of Neu-Ulm. In their speeches, both emphasised the importance of practice-oriented continuing education and the outstanding achievements of the graduates.
A special moment of the event was the keynote speech by Mr. Sacchet, who has been teaching at the ZfW since its inception. In his presentation, he emphasised the importance of lifelong learning and impressively demonstrated how continuing education can actively shape change in the world of work.
Awards and prizes for outstanding achievements
In addition to congratulating all graduates, six students were honoured as the best in their class. They received Jochen Schweizer vouchers worth 100 euros each for their exceptional achievements.
Particular mention was made of the master's thesis by a student in the Digital Leadership and IT Management programme entitled ‘Optimisation of the care process through digital innovation: Development and validation of the Carewish app’, which was awarded the prize for the best thesis of the year. The award was presented by Mr Günter Augustin from the Förderverein der Hochschule Neu-Ulm e.V. (Friends of Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences).
Looking back on 25 years of success and innovation
Since its foundation in 2000, the Centre for Continuing Education has enabled over 213 bachelor's and 1,270 MBA degrees to be completed. In addition, innovative continuing education programmes have been developed – with a focus on forward-looking topics such as artificial intelligence or the special requirements of the healthcare sector.
With over 200,000 cups of coffee and countless inspiring learning moments, the ZfW looks back on a quarter of a century of knowledge, change and growth.
