Learning and innovation factory for drones
Experience Industry 4.0 up close and in real life. Discover the future of industrial production in the learning and innovation factory for drones at the Leipheim University Center. Experience the use of artificial intelligence, networked systems, robotics and advanced automation systems. Immerse yourself in an inspiring environment where you can gain hands-on experience in a smart factory to produce a flyable drone and deepen your knowledge. Welcome to the DOL - where Industry 4.0 becomes a reality in teaching.
The Digital Operations Lab (DOL) is used for problem-based teaching and learning of supply chain management, Industry 4.0 and project management in the Systems Engineering degree programme. It is located in the Leipheim University Centre, which also houses the Smart Production + Logistics Technology Transfer Centre. At the heart of the DOL is an industry-oriented value creation system with a true global supply chain network (including the University of the Western Cape as a supplier) for the production of airworthy drones.
