Vita
Prof. Dr. Silvia Straub is a distinguished Professor of Business Administration and Medicine at the Faculty of Health Management at Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU). As founding member of the Physician Assistant program, faculty coordinator for practical training in Integrated Health, and internationalization officer for Health Management, she plays a key role in shaping innovative and practice-oriented education at HNU.
Her academic foundation combines both medicine and economics: she studied at Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen, where she qualified as a licensed medical doctor, and holds a degree in economics from the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart. She earned her doctorate from the renowned University of St. Gallen.
Before joining HNU, Prof. Dr. Straub built a distinguished career at top-tier strategy consulting firms in the finance, automotive, and healthcare sectors and held executive leadership roles—including Chief Financial Officer and Board Member—at healthcare organizations in Germany and abroad. A conference speaker and author of multiple publications, she is deeply engaged in advancing interdisciplinary thinking and leadership within the healthcare industry.
