In line with the interdisciplinary focus of the masterclass, HNU participants come from a wide range of disciplines – the current cohort includes students from the Information Management and Corporate Communications, Business Administration, and International Entrepreneurship, Sustainability, and Digitalization programs. The aim of the qualification program, which can be taken as an elective at HNU, is to give participants an in-depth understanding of innovation processes and business start-ups, as well as to impart the necessary in-depth knowledge.
From future trends to business ideation: a program with vision
The program offered jointly by the four Bavarian-Swabian universities in Augsburg (University of Augsburg and Augsburg University of Applied Sciences, THA), Kempten, and Neu-Ulm is correspondingly diverse: In the winter semester, participants work on the topic of “Future (&) Trends” at the THA and on the topic of “Social Impact” at the University of Applied Sciences Kempten. In the summer semester, the block at the University of Augsburg focuses on “International Entrepreneurship,” before the final part at the HNU, led by Prof. Dr. Daniel Schallmo, focuses on “Business Ideation.” The Neu-Ulm program focuses on close cooperation with regional partners—such as cities and municipalities, companies, and associations—and the development of innovative solutions to social challenges in the region.
Shaping the future together in the KANU network
“The Schwaben Innovation Masterclass impressively demonstrates how much innovative power can be found in interdisciplinary collaboration. In the first round, students from various disciplines worked together to develop solutions for real challenges in the region – from sustainable mobility to the use of artificial intelligence in daycare centers,” says Carina Volk-Schor, who is the technical director of the project. “For the coming year, I hope that we can carry this spirit forward in the KANU network at all four universities and create even more space for creative collaboration and inspiring ideas.”
