The project was carried out in the winter semester 2024/25 under the direction of Sebastian De Andrade. Four groups of students developed playful concepts for the Weissenhorn-based company bisonaire that make complex production processes in metal processing understandable and tangible. The aim was to create an interactive construction game for bisonaire's trade fair stand that conveys the path from the raw material aluminium to the finished can.
The students presented their game ideas - CAN you plan?, Bisonaire Factory Manager, Canned Solutions and Steel Pulse - and developed them further with the support of bisonaire. The results were so convincing that they are now being used at trade fairs and have led directly to a scientific paper. The co-operation shows how gamification can be used as a bridge between technology and communication.
Positive feedback on the project
"Cool project! The collaboration with the company was exciting and the fact that our game can now be shown at trade fairs makes it even better," said one student happily.
Sebastian De Andrade, lecturer for special tasks at the HNU, is also satisfied with the project results: "The project not only offers students valuable practical experience, but also real added value for their future careers - whether in industry or in a development studio. It underlines the strength of the GPM degree programme: practical, creative and closely networked with industry".
