Diagnosis: Christmas spirit: Christmas party with role-playing in the Physician Assistant degree program

10.12.2025, Study:

Medicine and Christmas spirit went hand in hand when over 100 students and teachers from the Physician Assistant program at Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU) got together at the end of November to celebrate the end of the year. Over mulled wine, punch, and Christmas treats, they not only celebrated, but also practiced their professional knowledge in a creative way.

The highlight of the evening was an interactive clinical role-play. Four professors from the program slipped into unfamiliar roles: Prof. Dr. Judith Mantz played a patient with “Christmas spice” poisoning, Prof. Dr. Verena Christ took on the role of the concerned husband, Prof. Dr. Mona Spiegel acted as a physician assistant, and Prof. Dr. Lisa Schiefele moderated the case. The students solved the case interactively using the digital quiz tool Kahoot, demonstrating their expertise and teamwork skills. The top three teams were honored at the end.

The combination of practice-oriented teaching methods and interactive formats in the Physician Assistant program optimally prepares students for their future tasks in the healthcare sector.
