German language courses
Would you like to improve your language skills? Some basic knowledge of German will help you a lot in your everyday life. Therefore, we are happy to be able to offer German courses to all exchange and degree-seeking students free of charge. The language centre at the HNU offers German courses of different levels (usually A1, A2 and B1) especially designed for our students at the HNU.
Details and conditions of participation
During the orientation weeks, we offer a two-week German intensive course for exchange students. After your admission at the HNU, you will be asked to take an online placement test so that we can plan the German classes, organise the teachers and assign you to the right course level. At the end of the course you can decide whether you want to continue with the German semester course (3 hours per week, 5 ECTS). In both courses you have to be present for 80% of the time in order to be allowed to write the exams.
If you are a degree-seeking student and you would like to attend a German semester course (5 ECTS), please contact the International Office (opens in a new window), right after your admission. Please note that there is a minimum number of participants per course level and therefore it may sometimes happen that we cannot offer all course levels. However, as a student at Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences you can also choose from the wide range of German virtual courses offered by the Virtual University of Bavaria (opens in a new window) (vhb).
