HNU students attend the 2nd Physician Assistant Congress in Kassel

03.12.2025, Study:

More than 40 students from Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU) attended the 2nd Physician Assistant (PA) Congress of the German Society for Physician Assistants in Kassel, accompanied by professors Dr. Mona Spiegel, Dr. Judith Mantz, and Dr. Lisa Schiefele. The event took place on November 13 and 14, 2025, under the motto “20 Years of Physician Assistants in Germany – We Are PAs!”

The excursion offered students the opportunity to engage intensively with current developments in the profession. With over 900 participants, the congress demonstrated how firmly physician assistants have established themselves in the German healthcare system. Lectures and discussions highlighted key challenges and future prospects. The focus was on outpatient care, clinical insights into various specialist areas, and the professional classification of physician assistants, which received special attention in the new position paper published by the German Medical Association.

Prof. Dr. Mona Spiegel emphasizes: “The congress inspired our students! The event was a valuable opportunity for them to learn about the profession of physician assistant from a scientific and professional policy perspective and to network with experts from all over Germany.”
