During the three-day visit, the HNU delegation met with leading representatives of the ULPGC, including the Rector Prof. Dr. Luis Serra and Prof. Dr. Agustin Jesús Sánchez Medina, Director of the University Institute of Cybernetics, Business and Society (IUCES). The programme also included talks with the Vice-Rector for Internationalization, Mobility and International Projection, Prof. Dr. Jin Taira, and the Vice-Rector for Degree Programmes and New Degrees, Prof. Dr. Luis Hernández. The International Coordinator for Mobility, Cristina Chirino, and other key partners, such as Prof. Dr. Sergio Ramos Ramos, Vice Dean for Mobility and International Relations, also took part in the discussions.
Focus on internationalization and research cooperation
The talks focused on specific opportunities for cooperation between HNU's IfE and ULPGC in the field of research, for example through joint publications and projects in the context of entrepreneurship and sustainability. An intensive exchange in the context of teaching is also planned, for example through excursions and exchange programs for students and lecturers. Particular attention was paid to cooperation within the framework of the International Startup League (ISUL). This project, which is supported by the DAAD, aims to promote the mobility of students and professors and to establish innovative entrepreneurship programs on an international level. With the ULPGC as a potential partner, the ISUL project is to be further strengthened and supplemented by joint mobility programs.
Enhanced visibility in an international context
HNU and ULPGC are planning to seal their cooperation with an official partnership agreement. The aim is to expand the international visibility and reach of HNU through increased cooperation and mobility programs. The delegation was impressed by the open and cooperative atmosphere at ULPGC and sees promising potential for joint projects, particularly in the field of tourism, which can usefully complement HNU's profile in terms of sustainable entrepreneurship.
