The award was presented by Lukas Maier, Managing Director of Honold Kontraktlogistik. In his laudatory speech, he emphasised the importance of the award for promoting young talent in the industry: "This award was created to highlight achievements that often remain in the background in everyday student and professional life. Our award winner impressively demonstrates how logistics succeeds when expertise, initiative and forward thinking come together. It is precisely such personalities who drive our industry and our society forward."
"The award sends a strong signal for the promotion of young talent and highlights the outstanding achievements of our graduates. At the same time, it demonstrates the close connection between our university and the practical world," said HNU President Prof. Dr. Uta M. Feser.
The winner was selected by a high-calibre jury of experts headed by Prof. Dr Oliver Kunze, who evaluated the submitted works according to scientific quality, practical relevance and degree of innovation. Prof. Dr Oliver Kunze emphasised that Burger's work was particularly impressive due to its clear problem analysis, methodological depth and immediate benefits for logistics processes.
